How does it work?
We compile a list starting June 1st and make two callings. One calling occurs early in the afternoon of the Monday of Labor Day Weekend. At this time we typically let go the bulk of the bikes (Hybrids, Mountain Bikes, and any Youth, Tag-along , and Trailers) except the Road bikes. The second calling typically occurs in the week following first Monday after MightyMan Triathlon in October This included the Road Bikes and the reminder of the fleet . The entire inventory goes in a total of 4 hours. (The specific date and time will be email broadcast a week prior to the October call date.)
When do I Pay?
We call in chronological order the names off the list compiled. You must be at your phone and be prepared to make payment either by credit card, or PayPal. Your name on the list does not guarantee that you will get a bike. You must be at the phone during the time the calls are made for your best opportunity to get the bike. If you miss the call it will still be possible to get a bike so call backs are welcome. At the time of the call you will be given a tag number, the bike is removed from rental service, thoroughly checked over, and tagged as sold. Arrangements to pick the bike up or have it shipped are made at that time.
When can I pick up my bike?
Usually they are ready to go during store hours the day following your call. We would appreciate pick ups within two weeks. Shipping is available and the cost is $25.00 plus UPS charges (US only).
What are my chances?
These bikes are always over sold. The best chance is to get your name on the list early. That said, even with a late entry, you never know, it comes down to who is at the phone.
What kind of warranty is there on the bikes?
These bikes are well maintained and are completely serviced every two weeks during the rental season. Each bike is sold AS IS! We give each bike a complete check over. You must inspect the bike at the time of pickup. The frames carry the manufacturers warrantee: Giant Bicycle, Inc. warrants the steel frame and rigid steel fork of each new Giant bicycle to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns the bicycle. All aluminum and carbon fiber frames and rigid forks as well as suspension frames are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of five years from the date of purchase for the original owner.
